When researching and curating all the amazing products that go into our gift box range it's essential that all the beauty/skin care products contain no nasties, use natural ingredients and made cruelty free...Handmade and Homemade is the epitome of these standards and expectations. Jess is truly living this with her beautiful range of skincare and homeware products - developed after growing up with multiple skin conditions and issues where treatment with natural products was her only option. Believing in herself and her product has been the biggest lesson in business she has had to learn - something a lot of us have probably had to deal with!

Why doing what you do/motivation to start your business?
Having grown up with sensitive skin and multiple skin issues, using natural products was my only option. I struggled to find truly natural products for so many years that I began researching and creating my own, after doing that for 8 years I made the leap turning a hobby into a business.
How did you decide on your brand/business name, and is there any specific meaning behind it?
I wanted to create an image that clearly reflected what my products were and where they came from. Handmade & Homemade tells our customers that our products are homemade by hand, using natural ingredients, and that no matter the size of this business we will always be handmade. I think this is really important, a lot of love and care goes into every product and it adds a touch of uniqueness as every product is slightly different.
Biggest lesson you’ve learnt in business?
To believe in myself and my product.
Got a tip for the best way to use/consume your product?
I recommend using our products together, each type of product in our skincare range is enhanced when paired with others. For example, when using our Face Masks, I highly recommend following up with our Face Oils and Toners, the effects are only greater for your skin.
What are some small things that make your day?
As I am pregnant at the moment, freshly squeezed orange juice is a delicious treat to my day. And having cuddles with my dogs, Kobe and Gucci.
What takes up too much of your time?
Housework...
Favourite thing to do to relax/unwind?
Reading and taking the dogs to the park.
What are you most grateful and thankful for in your life?
My fiancé, and family who have supported me throughout my life.
